Is it possible to program a 2000 Ford Ranger PATS key if I only have one original?
I want to program a PATS transponder key on my 2000 Ford Ranger, however I only have 1 original key. Is there a way I can program it myself without having to take it to the dealership and pay hundreds of dollars just to get a spare key to my truck?
I did this exact thing with my 2003 Ranger Edge. You have to have a valid ID and your registration to show the dealership before they program any key. Once verified the programming cost me $60. You can get original uncut Ford P.A.T.S. keys on Ebay for a lot cheaper. I got 2 for $25 shipped and then had the dealer program them.
