International Harvester Company (IHC or IH, now Navistar International Corporation) was an agricultural machinery, construction equipment, vehicles, commercial trucks and household and commercial products manufacturer. In 1902, the quintessential robber baron JP Morgan bought the company McCormick Harvesting Machine Company and Deering Harvester, with three smaller agricultural equipment firms: Milwaukee, Plano, and Warder, Bushnell and Glessner (manufacturers of brand Champion). JP Morgan International Harvester formed. International Harvester AG sold the division in 1985 and later changed the name of the company. Case IH is formed when the Agriculture Division merged with JI Case.
History
Foundation
The roots of International Harvester can be traced back to 1830s, when Cyrus Hall McCormick, inventor of Virginia, completed his version of a horse mower. The reaper was demonstrated in tests in 1831 and was patented by Cyrus in 1834. With his brother, McCormick moved to Chicago in 1847 and started the McCormick Harvesting Company Machine. The McCormick reaper sold well, partly because of business practices and innovative. Their products come to market and development paths Iron offered a wide distribution in areas distant market. He developed marketing and sales techniques, developing an extensive network of qualified suppliers to demonstrate the operation of the machine in the field.
McCormick died in Chicago, with his company to go to his son, Cyrus McCormick, Jr. In 1902, McCormick Harvesting Machine Company and Deering Harvester Company, with three small agricultural equipment (Milwaukee, Plano, and Warder, Bushnell and Glessner (manufacturers Champion brand)) merged to form the International Harvester Company. In 1919, Parlin Orendorff Factory in Canton, Illinois grew up with a ranking number of manufacturing plows. The International Harvester Company bought the plant works by calling the township, but production continued for many decades.

The golden years of IH
In 1926, Farmall Works began producing a new plant in Rock Island, Illinois, built exclusively to produce the new Farmall tractor. In 1930, the 100,000 th Farmall was produced. IH after his eye on the introduction of a real tractor "General Purpose", designed to meet the average the American family farmer. Throughout the years 1960 and 1970, despite strong sales, profit margins remained thin IH.
